Role Overview
The Group Financial Controller owns financial truth, cash discipline, and capital readiness for the Aeonn Ark Group. This role exists to eliminate financial ambiguity, prevent cash surprises, and impose disciplined decision-making across the organisation. It is a cash-first, control-led role with direct authority to stop spend, enforce budgets, and surface risks early. If it is not budgeted, approved, or cash-safe — it does not proceed.
This is a CFO-track role, focused on building a finance system that scales with capital.
Core Responsibilities
Budgeting & Forecasting
Design and own a single, standard budget structure across the group
Prepare the annual operating budget and rolling 12-month forecast
Run monthly budget vs actual reviews with written variance explanations
Cash & Runway Control (Highest Priority)
Maintain daily visibility of bank balances
Publish weekly cash position and 30/60/90-day runway views
Track committed vs discretionary cash
Flag risks early — no optimism masking
Spend Governance & Controls
Design and enforce spend approval matrix (₹ thresholds)
Enforce CAPEX vs OPEX discipline
Zero tolerance for retrospective approvals
Require justification for all non-routine spends
Monthly Close & Reporting
Enforce strict monthly close timelines
Produce vertical-wise and consolidated P&L
Deliver clear cash flow statements
Ensure reports are simple, comparable, and decision-ready
Working Capital Discipline
Own receivables aging and collection cadence
Control payables sequencing
Prevent cash stress caused by poor timing or discipline
Capital Strategy Support
Model capital requirements vs internal cash generation
Build use-of-funds and downside survival scenarios
Support investor diligence and fundraising readiness
Act as gatekeeper against cash-destructive terms
Authority & Independence
Authority to block any unbudgeted or unapproved spend
Authority to demand financial data from any vertical
Direct escalation rights to the Chairman
No functional or informal bypass permitted
Explicitly out of scope: HR, operations management, vendor execution, investor pitching.
Experience
8–12 years of progressive finance experience
Mandatory exposure to multi-entity / group structures
Strong cash, controls, and governance mindset
Comfortable saying “no” when required
CA preferred
Low ego, high discipline
Growth Path
Subject to delivery, this role progresses to Group CFO within 12–18 months.
